Our sheaths are 3D printed from Sculpteo with an industrial-grade SLS 3D printer and solid grey PA12, and then polished through mechanical polishing to make them smoother to touch. They are tough, long-lasting, skin-safe, waterproof, flexible, and lightweight. The black sheaths are printed in white PA12 and then dyed in black. In our test, white PA12 and dyed sheaths outperform the already strong enough solid grey PA12. PLEASE NOTE THAT DYED SHEATHS NEED EXTRA CARE AS THE DYE CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO STRAPS LIKE DENIM JEANS DO IN LONG-TERM CONTACT. ALSO, AVOID CONTACT WITH CHEMICALS, INCLUDING SANITIZERS. IT WILL BLEED

 

Since last year's Kickstarter campaign, we have updated the sheath design slightly. They are crowdfunded versions in Japan and South Korea. This new version has carved text inside that shows their size and the design is more edged and slightly bulky. You do not need to upgrade Kickstarter sheaths, as these are identical in functions and durability. If you want the Kickstarter version, please get in touch with us.


We recommend you get a customized sheath for your strap for the best user experience. Please leave a message with desired strap size(width, thickness) if your strap is not listed in the option. Then we will customize the model, upload it to our Shapeways store, and give you the order link. Choose general sizes(18mm, 20mm, 24mm, 26mm) if you want maximum compatibility. They fit up to 4mm in thickness, so if your strap is thicker than 4mm, please contact us.

Good marketing, creative concept

The most useful piece of EDC I've ever owned, hands down!

Many EDC companies nowadays use highly underwhelming and overused materials, and marketing. Flamed titanium, gold inlay, and other exotic materials are beautiful but add unnecessary cost and complexity to something that should be used day to day (hence EDC or every-day-carry).

TheUltimatest does the exact opposite. They not only make something cool and useful, they have revolutionized the EDC market by making something at an affordable and approachable price, with huge amounts of adaptability and unique designs. Not to mention, it blends in. The whole idea (in my opinion) is for an EDC tool to blend into you the rest of the gear, and not stand out while being a useful piece of gear that you can access quickly.

When I am out and about, I am not worried about breaking or scratching this because it's tough and also adds to the look and feel. Unlike other items, I'm worried that it will get stolen or damaged if I put it in my pocket or on my pouch. If something does break or you have any questions, they respond back quickly and also have resources so you can 3D print your own stuff!

I love this little blade, and the holder is awesome too. It does take a while to get to you if you live in the USA but I say it's completely worth the wait. A great purchase and an absolute recommendation for those who want something affordable and unique!

Sheaths are well designed

The sheaths for the knife are all well designed and durable. I have two accommodating different watches. I highly recommend getting multiple sheaths because that way you can leave a sheath on the strap if you have multiple watches that you wear.

For this sheath, I am using it was a customized Casio F-91W using the SensorWatch main module. I've hacked the module to be timer and alarm focused. Coupled with the Edcest, I have the ultimate daily carry productivity tool that is old school and practical.
